The other day a friend asked me for some help, they are struggling to keep their energy levels high and feels tried all the time. So, this inspired me to also help you guys out there who are suffering and share my top tips on how to increase your energy when we feel our lowest.
Firstly, check out these energy boosting smoothies to kick start your day or to drink when you hit that afternoon slump:
The Energy Booster
Potassium-rich bananas deliver energizing carbs, while protein powder and peanut butter give you energy to get through a slump.
2 frozen bananas, peeled and chopped
2 scoops chocolate protein powder
2 Tbsp peanut butter
2 Tbsp wheat germ
1 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp honey
3/4 c low-fat Greek yogurt
4 Tbsp skim milk powder 2 c ice
Avocado and Banana smoothie
This smoothie is so delicious and healthy, avocado is a great source of protein and good fats. Plus it's so smooth and creamy... this is great after a work-out or as a quick filling breakfast.
frozen banana, cut up in small pieces
1 large ripe avocado, or 2 small
1 cup milk (use soy, rice or almond if you prefer)
2 tablespoons plain greek yogurt
2 teaspoons honey, maple syrup or agave nectar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 pinch cinnamon powder (optional)
Directions
1.Add all the ingrediants (exept cinnemon) to the blender
2.Blend for about 60 seconds or untill smooth
3.Serve in a nice tall glass or cup with a sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Still feel tired and lethargic?.... You may have a slight Iron deficiency!
Try also increasing foods high in iron into your daily diet such as liver, pumpkin seeds, dried apircots, unsalted nuts such as almonds, walnuts, cashews, beans and pulses, dark green leafy veg and dark chocolate or cocoa powder (great in energy drinks too).
