Healthy Snack Recipe..

Hi Everyone,

A short and sweet blog from me today. I thought I would share with you a healthy snack recipe that is one of my favs at the moment! Lets face it, its hard to remember snacks, hard to pick healthy snacks and hard to keep on track with them! So, fear no more, I have found one that you will love that's easy to make and simple to take to work/school or enjoy while chilling at home on a Sunday.

A big fan of crisps and dips??? me too... check out these Pitta bread crisps and guacamole dip:

PITTA BREAD CRISPS



Serves 4

2 wholemeal pitta breads
Optional: dried herbs or paprika

1. Preheat oven to 200c/400F/gas mark 6
2. Slice the pitta breads through the middle and open out so that you have 4 halves
3. Slice each half into triangles
4. Sprinkle with paprika or dried herbs if desired
5. Arrange on a baking tray and bake for 5-7 minutes until golden.

RECIPE COST?: 20P

TOP TOP!: These pitta bread crisps are low in fat and are great dipped into low fat hummus, guacamole (see below) or low fat natural yogurt.

GUACAMOLE

serves 4

2 ripe avocados
1 clove of garlic
1 tomato
1 lemon

1. Slice the avocados in half and remove the stone
2. Chop the avocados and then mash them in a bowl
3. Chop the tomato and add this to the avocado
4. Crush the garlic into the mix and add the juice of the lemon
5. Mix well and serve immediately.

RECIPE COST?: £1.88
